This Privacy Policy applies to ProConnect Social Networks LTD (registered in England and Wales, company number 17273365; registered address: 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom).

ProConnect is a global professional networking platform. We are committed to transparency regarding how we collect, use, and protect your personal data — wherever in the world you use our services.

We collect only the data necessary to deliver a meaningful professional networking experience:

Professional Details — industry, language skills, background, and networking goals, as provided by you.

LinkedIn Profile Data — URL or QR code, shared only with your explicit consent.

Interaction Data — event check-ins, RSVPs, connections, and in-platform messaging.

Usage & Technical Data — IP address, device type, and app interaction logs to ensure platform security and performance.

Camera — the native app can open your device's Camera app so you can take a photo to upload. ProConnect does not process the camera stream itself.

Photo Library — photos you choose to upload from your device, e.g. for your profile or posts.

Location — your city or area is entered by you as text. ProConnect does not collect or use your device's precise geolocation.

Microphone — used for voice notes and any audio/video features you choose to use.

Push notifications — if you allow notifications in the mobile app, we store the notification token Apple issues for that device, linked to your account, so we can alert you about messages, connection requests and events. Tokens are removed when you sign out, delete your account, or the device stops accepting notifications. You can turn notifications off at any time in Settings or in your device settings.

AI Transparency

We utilise AI-powered tools to enhance your experience (e.g., matchmaking or professional insights). We do not sell your personal data to third-party AI companies for the purpose of training their models.

At your request, AI may also help you draft parts of your own profile (such as your bio or what you are looking for), using only the information you have already provided on your profile. Any suggestion is shown to you for review and is only kept if you save it.

When you use the profile assistant, the text you ask it to help with is sent to our AI gateway provider (Lovable AI Gateway) and underlying model provider (Google Gemini) solely to generate suggestions for you. They act as data processors on our instructions and do not use that content to train their models.

Prohibition of Scraping

We employ technical measures to prevent unauthorised third-party scraping or harvesting of user data for AI training or machine learning purposes.

We utilise anonymised, aggregated user data for cohort targeting to help professional event organisers reach relevant audiences. No individual personal information is exposed; all cohort insights are presented in an aggregated, anonymous form.

Event Attendee Data

Event organisers may export attendee and check-in data for their own events, and may delete that event's attendee/check-in records from ProConnect after export. This is a per-event action controlled by the organiser and is not a platform-wide purge. We log these actions for audit purposes.

As a global platform, your data may be processed in countries outside of the UK or European Economic Area (EEA). Where we transfer your data internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards — such as Standard Contractual Clauses — are in place to maintain the level of protection required by UK GDPR.

Data may also be processed by third-party service providers (e.g. hosting and database providers) acting on ProConnect's instructions, under appropriate data processing agreements.

ProConnect is an 18+ platform. We implement age-assurance measures during sign-up. We do not knowingly store data for individuals under 18; if such an account is identified, it will be restricted and the data deleted.

Under the UK GDPR and equivalent international frameworks, you have the following rights:

• Right of Access — request a copy of your personal data.
• Right to Rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Right to Erasure — request deletion (“right to be forgotten”). You may delete your account and data at any time via Account Settings.
• Right to Data Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.
• Right to Object — object to processing for secondary purposes (e.g., cohort analytics). You may opt-out of non-essential processing via Account Settings.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active, and for a reasonable period afterwards where necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request erasure of your data at any time via Account Settings.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes encryption of data in transit and secure access controls.
